About Oops & Daisies
As I write this from the couch in my living room, there are three cardboard boxes in my view. Over the last few days, my kids have alternated between treating them as pirate ships, closets a la Narnia, and cars. A puzzle also lays on the ground, along with a superhero mask and cape. A part of me thinks I should go and clean everything up — including this morning’s breakfast dishes — but I know if I do, I won’t have time to cuddle up with my co-worker (Kafka the bulldog) and write before I go grab my kiddos from school.
Juggling everything life throws at us and figuring out our priorities? It’s hard, but we don’t talk about the hard parts, or the messiness of life, nearly enough. Because life? It’s messy — especially when my kids act like a tornado between the hours of 4 and 6 pm.
In all seriousness though, I began this blog in 2015, because I wanted to talk about juggling work and life and everything in between. Since the blog’s inception, I’ve heard and seen just how hard we — women, especially — can be on ourselves. We strive for perfection, because that’s what it seems the world wants of us. We deal with anxiety and stress, because we’re constantly pushing ourselves to do more, be more, to say “yes” to everything.
But there is so much beauty around us when we give ourselves permission to slow down, to do a hobby we forgot about since we became parents, or to just, well, be. I’ve been working on accepting the fact that life is messy — and far from perfect — and that’s a big part of what my blog is about: navigating both the ups and downs of life, the oops and daisies if you will.
On Oops & Daisies, I’m not cropping out the mess. I’m living life zoomed out, and writing all about my oops and daisies in regards to all the things I’m most passionate about: parenting/family, travel, food, self care, beauty, mindset and personal development, books, and writing.
I hope this blog helps you embrace the craziness that comes from our imperfect lives, and all the oops and daisies that come with it.
Have a story of your own to share? I’d love to hear from you.
About Liz SanFilippo Hall
I’m a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, but I’m also Liz SanFilippo Hall. I spend my days writing and editing for freelance clients, creating makeup/skincare tutorials for my Younique business, and chasing around my two young kiddos in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Since 2005, I have had an odd assortment of jobs, but my passion has always been for the written word and sharing the stories of people and places. As a result, over the course of my professional writing career, my work has been featured on a wide variety of sites, including CBSLocal.com, SelfSufficientKids.com, KidsActivitiesBlog.com, and TheInternationalKitchen.com, to name a few.
After becoming a parent, the way I approached work and life changed drastically. Since 2017, and the birth of my second child, I have worked from home on a part-time basis. In the process of juggling work and life, I forgot for awhile what it’s like to have hobbies, but I’ve been refinding them in recent years, and they include:
* Reading (I always have at least three books on my ‘currently reading’ shelf on Goodreads);
* Creative writing — one day this will be more than a ‘hobby’;
* Drawing and coloring — and not just with my kids’ crayons; and
* Enjoying the outdoors, from the willow tree in our backyard, to the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, which I consider my second home.

Hi Tamika! The kit will always be the same amount, but the contents of the kit change on a regular basis. Currently both kits are valued at more than $300. What other questions can I answer for you?
